Real Maine Wedding of the Year | Planning Day Two

Wedding

May 7, 2020

If you have been following along, last week you read all about planning day one for Katie and Colby’s Real Maine Wedding of the year! Today I am sharing my view behind the lens as they planned the final details. We started the day by meeting at Bear Mountain Inn. Katie and Colby met with Brian and Julie and walked the property and viewed all the rooms of the inn. If you have never been there put it on your list of things to do this summer! They offer stays for couples and families with so many activities such as walking trails, swimming, kayaking, fire pits and more. And, the rooms are GORGEOUS!!

After walking the property, we headed inside to talk food. We met with Heather of The Good Food Store & Catering Company to discuss the meal that would be served at Katie and Colby’s reception. And, it is pretty fitting as Cinco de Mayo just happened and they wanted a full taco bar!! Hearing all the details Heather had planned left our bellies hungry and excited for the wedding day.

We then met with Mary of Mountainess Handmade to discuss the favors that would be given to each of Katie and Colby’s guests. Mary brought so many candles to pick from and it was going to be hard to narrow it down to three choices for the followers to vote on. What I loved most about these candles was the artwork on the side. Mary does custom artwork for each of her clients to fit their theme on the outside of the little metal tins. Just look below at some of her work. Love it and they are made from organic oils and plastic free packaging.

Lastly, after all the planning was done we stepped outside to finally have a moment alone with the couple. We wanted to get to know them before the big day. So, it was only fitting to do an engagement session with them. This is key to our MBCO experience. We include engagement sessions with all our collections as this is our chance to get to know you and teach you a few poses to help us a little on the wedding day. Katie and Colby were literally naturals with seriously no guidance. They were so sweet, kind and totally in love with each other. We were still a few months from their big day, but we couldn’t wait to be a part of it.

Thanks for reading along today and be on the lookout next week for their Welcome Party that will be on the blog! More fun photos to come.
